Disney Imagineers decorate Walt Disney World for the holidays every year with unique holiday decorations for each theme park and resort and it’s impressive to see what’s in store for you at any given park or Disney resort and the Studios is no exception to that. There’s quite a bit to see at the Studios during the holidays and you’re going to want to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
Perhaps the best known holiday decorations at the Studios are the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. This amazing light display can be found up and down the Streets of America and are a highlight of the holiday offerings at Walt Disney World in general. The lights come on every night at 6pm and every 20 minutes, Disney makes the lights "dance" along to music which is enough to make everyone stop in their tracks, look up and gaze with their mouths open. Add some fake snow and you have a wonderful holiday experience that is not to be missed.
Tucked away near Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano is the seasonal christmas store that obviously sells Christmas merchandise during the holiday season. In aidditon to being a store, there is a unique opportunity for young children to decorate paper ornaments and put them up on the Christmas tree in the store. The best part is it's free! Any child who enjoys drawing will certainly love this unique opportunity.
Christmas Tree
Each Disney park and resort have their own Christmas tree and they're uniquely designed to match the decor and theme of the location the tree is placed. The tree at the Studios, which is located in front of the entrance to the park, has that classic Christmas touch to it with a bit of Hollywood glitz with Hollywood stars (literally) on it and reminds you of the trees you may have seen in the first part of the 20th century. The tree is a great photo spot and certainly not to be overlooked.
Hollywood & Sunset Boulevards
It's subtle but there is a nice holiday overlay found throughout the park, especially on Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards. You'll find garland and other holiday touches all along these streets that convey that holiday theme in any photo you take in the Studios and sets the tone for the other holiday decorations and events in the park.
