Last week we began a mini-series of Star Wars Weekend inspired articles and we'll continue this week with one of the coolest characters in the Star Wars universe. Darth Maul, regardless of your opinion of Episode 1, is a very neat looking character and makes for a great character meet-n-greet area. His area has bright red energy walls behind him which depict an important scene from the end of Episode 1.

The backdrop is from the scene at the Theed power generator where Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn fight with Darth Maul in an epic battle scene. Theed is the capital city of Naboo, the main setting for the Phantom Menace film and the power facility was used for producing energy from the plasma discovered beneath the streets of Theed. Obi-Wan Kenobi Qui-Gon Jinn fought Maul on the central walkway but after Kenobi was kicked down onto a lower platform, Maul rushed into a hallway of laser gates to isolate Jinn from his apprentice who eventually jumped back up. The hall led to a deactivated reactor shaft on the edge of which Jinn was murdered and where Maul ultimately plunged down into after being slashed fatally by the vengeful Kenobi.
Below is a video of the scene that inspired the meet-n-greet area. You are warned however that this scene depicts some major spoilers of Episode 1.
