With Star Wars Weekends upon us, we'll be starting a little mini-series of articles focusing on some visual elements of Star Wars Weekends and explaining why it's there. This week we're looking at a meet-n-greet area for the Disney characters that are dressed up as Jedi Mickey, Minnie Leia, Darth Goofy and Stormtrooper Donald. The area has a bright white facade that looks like it belongs on a spaceship.

The set is actually directly themed after the interior of the ship the Tantine IV from the Star Wars films. For some people reading this, that description was enough but I'm sure many more casual Star Wars fans (and those not fans at all) will want a better explanation. The Tantine IV was the ship that transported Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of Revenge of the Sith to hide from the Empire. It was also famously featured in the beginning of A New Hope when Princess Leia was using the ship to escape from Darth Vader.
