For Star Wars fans, there are a lot of references to the films of Star Wars and even beyond the films. These references can be overt or very subtle and there's one particular droid that is of interest to Star Wars fans who have a keen eye and a good knowledge of Star Wars trivia. The obvious droids are C3P0 and R2-D2 but there are other less famous droids that should be noted. In the Droid Works portion of the queue area is G2-9T, a repair droid that talks to you while he's performing his repairs on droids in his area (well, that is what he is supposed to be doing anyway). The droid he is working on is of particular interest to Star Wars fans who may remember this droid's brief moment of fame.

This red and white droid is none other than R2-D5, better known as R5-D2. R5-D2 was Wedge Antilles's astromech after he reformed Rogue Squadron. It was called "Mynock" because of how noisily it whistled. Prior to the Battle of Thyferra, Wedge became so irritated with the droid's shrill cry that he had its memory wiped. This R5 droid has no dialouge to either guests or to G2-9T, and is more there to fill out the area with other broken droids. The droid also received an upgrade changing it’s designation to R5-G8. Also goes by the name R5-DL. So while most of the droids in the queue are basically spare parts, this one has a relation to why it's there.
