In the Great Movie Ride you will find a lot of hommages to the films of the past (it's kind of the premise of the attraction) and many of the scenes in the attraction are obvious why they are there and what film they are referencing but there are some elements of the attraction that reference a film without much fan fare. In the underworld scene of the ride, you will find many references to films because it was hard for Disney Imagineers to just pick one film. In this scene, we see a sign for a Red and Blue Cab Company.

This sign is the name of the cab company that James Cagney owned on the side, in addition to his bootlegging business, in the film "The Roaring Twenties (1939)." In the film, former saloon keeper George Hally (Humphrey Bogart) turns to bootlegging, and out-of-work Eddie Bartlett (James Cagney) becomes a cab driver. Eddie builds a fleet of cabs through delivery of bootleg liquor and hires Lloyd as his lawyer. George becomes Eddie's partner and the rackets flourish until love and rivalry interfere.

While The Public Enemy is the main scene of focus for the underworld scene in the film, Imagineers still were able to reference some other classic films of the genre with these subtle hints at the films.
