It's starting to get a little cold out there so come inside and read some questions submitted to this site about the Disney-MGM Studios and see the answers as you sip your hot cocoa by the fire (or your computer's exhaust area). A group of us want to plan for Supe rSoap Weekend in 2008. When do they usually announce the dates?
Thanks so much - Tricia
For the 2007 event, we had the dates announced on January 17th of 2007 and in 2006, we had the dates announced in March of 2006 so clearly there was a bit of a differenced between the dates. Historically, the dates for Super Soap Weekend do come out more in advance than Star Wars Weekends and that's probably because Disney owns the ABC brand and can more easily dictate when the event will be held. Stay tuned!
I've heard that there's some new holiday drinks for sale during the Osborne Lights. Can you tell me about these drinks? - Kelly
There are indeed some new drink stands set up that offer some holiday drinks. There are two mixed drinks for about $10 which are called Winter Wonderland and Snowball. Both are concoctions of different alcohol and come with a glowing ice cube. They also offer spiced egg nog which will put you right in the holiday mood along with some other drinks like beer and hot chocolate. There's a stand in front of the Sci-Fi as well as one on the Streets of America near the subway station.
If you had to pick between eating at the Brown Derby or Mama Melrose, which would you pick and why? - Louis
Interesting question! I would have to lean towards Mama Melrose for a couple of reasons. First, Mama Melrose is going to be less expensive (and more than likely the price difference will be signifigant). More importantly, Mama Melrose has a wider selection of food and I like the food better at Mama Melrose than at the Brown Derby. I would recommend ordering a bunch of appetizers at Mama Melrose (one more than in your party) and share them among your table for a good sampling of what's offered.
