Every week I’ll be answering any question about the Disney-MGM Studios from planning questions to “what happened to...” questions.  So if you’ve got something you’ve been wondering about or simply need clarification, please feel free to email them to me (use the form below).

I just read in the Passporter guide book that a non-moving ride is available on Star Tours for people with motion sickness (like me ). Have you done it? - Jerry S.
I have done it in the past and it's called a "test flight" and basically what it is, is the regular Star Tours attraction but the vehicle doesn't move. You see the film, hear the sound effects but with no movement. To ride, simply ask a Cast Member for a test flight when you get to the point in the line where they ask you how many in your party. It's a great option for anyone who may be afraid to ride or if you want to bring your kids on but they may not be ready for the motion simulator.

I'm going to the Studios for July 4th. Where should I see the fireworks from? - Ana R.
I hope you get this in time, but for the July 4th fireworks, they are shot off from behind the Great Movie Ride. Ideally you're halfway between the Great Movie Ride and the park entrance on Hollywood Boulevard but of course, the rest of the park has that same idea. Another good option might be to watch it from just outside the park gates. This allows for two advantages. First, you'll be able to get to your car pretty fast. Also, there should be more room between you and everyone else. It's not perfect, but it's an idea.

How early should I arrive to get a place for the parade? - Chris C.
30-45 minutes should be enough. However, keep in mind which side of the street you take up as the afternoon sun changes and by the time of the parade, can cause tremendous glare.
