Every week I’ll be answering any question about the Disney-MGM Studios from planning questions to “what happened to...” questions.  So if you’ve got something you’ve been wondering about or simply need clarification, please feel free to email them to me (use the form below).

We will go to Florida again this year to spend a week at the beach with my wife's family. We are planning to hit Disney the weekend after.

We are considering our first visit to the Studios on June 9th, 2007. Our kids are 4, 9 and 15. Since we will be coming from the beach that morning, we will likely arrive late. I see that this will be a Star Wars weekend. How will these two factors influence our ability to enjoy the park?

If we arrive after noon on a Star Wars weekend day, what is the best strategy for seeing Star Tours and Indiana Jones? We need to work in Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Play house Disney for our 4 and 9 year-old girls as well.

Thanks Matt, listen to you soon. - Darren N.

Crowds for Star Wars Weekends will be elevated, meaning there will be more people in the park than general, however, most of the crowd will be centered around the Star Wars Weekend events going on. With the event being held in only June this year, it's going to be more crowded than usual, especially weekends 3 and 4, because June tends to be a much more crowded month than May because June begins the summer months that bring many folk to Walt Disney World.

The key for you is that in years past, the Star Wars Weekends events end by about 4 or 5, with the park open until 8 or so. When you arrive, you'll want to do non-Star Wars Weekend events. I would go with Beauty and the Beast, Playhouse Disney, Voyage of the Little Mermaid followed by Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and finally Star Tours.

Beauty and the Beast will be the hardest to work in because it has the fewest shows so when you arrive, figure out what time Beauty & the Beast is and schedule around that. Playhouse Disney is the next hardest show to work in followed by Indiana Jones. By about 5 or 6, the Star Wars crowds tend to filter out since in years past, the Star Wars Weekend events have tended to end by about 5 or 6pm.

Do you have to buy tickets to the park in order to enjoy one of the dining packages? - Gail S, Warren, MI
Yes, you'll need to have park admission to participate in the Fantasmic! Dinner Package. If you're going to the Studios for just dinner and Fantasmic!, you may consider getting a park hopper option on your ticket and spending the first half of the day at another park.

We will be going to a character breakfast at Hollywood & Vine. Can you tell me where that is? - Joe G.
Hollywood & Vine is located right next to the 50's Primetime Cafe.  If that doesn't help you, here is how to get there from the front of the park. Walk down Hollywood Boulevard and make your first left, right before Keystone Clothiers. Go down the street (Vine St) and you'll see Hollywood & Vine on your left side.
