Every week I’ll be answering any question about the Disney-MGM Studios from planning questions to “what happened to...” questions.  So if you’ve got something you’ve been wondering about or simply need clarification, please feel free to email them to me (use the form below).

I heard a rumor that a new character meal was being added at MGM. Do you know anything about that? We really wish they would add one that included Toy Story characters. - Lauren M.
It sounds to me like you heard an old rumor for something already happened. Last year (2006, that is), there were rumors of a new character meal to come to Hollywood & Vine featuring Pixar characters (most notably Toy Story). The idea was to have the breakfast run by "Sarge," of Green Army Men fame. Also to be featured were Buzz Lightyear and Mr. Incredible among other Pixar characters and were aiming for an opening of early June with the character meal to debut for breakfast and if popular enough, would extend to lunch and dinner.

So what happened? Well, by about March there were rumors of delays due to concerns from folks at Pixar about how their characters were to be portrayed in the show and as a result, Disney went ahead with a Playhouse Disney theme instead which we see today at Hollywood & Vine.

Hi Matt,
Any idea when the dates for Super Soap Weekend 2007 will be announced?
- Elizabeth I.
The dates for Super Soap Weekend 2007 are not available yet but the dates for 2006 came out in an email from ABC on March 4 so it's not unreasonable to expect to see those dates come out around the same time this year. If you're wondering, the dates for 2005 & 2004 came out in July.

I heard Al's Toy Barn is going to be replaced by the High School Musical show from the Magic Kingdom. Say it ain't so! - Stacey W.
Fear not Toy Story lovers, this rumor is false. Well, not entirely. Yes, High School Musical is coming to the Studios but it is not replacing Al's Toy Barn. Instead, it will be on a mobile float, similiar to the Much, Sweat & Shears float, and will follow the parade route for a performance in front of the hat (meaning it enters the park between Star Tours & Backlot Express and moves along Echo Lake until it reaches the Sorcerer's Hat).

It is always great to see you willingly answer questions for people on such a frequent basis. In the last paragragh I think there may be a typo. I think you meant "So as far as we know there will be a Star Wars weekend 2007*..." rather than 2006. Not tying to correct you just for the sake of it or anything just looking out for confusion. - Preston
Thanks for the correction Preston! I usually have my editor double check my work but he was more content with running around in his wheel in his cage all day.
